TIKTOK SHOP: DIGITAL DISPLAY
I brought this bold digital display to life for a TikTok Shop activation, animating the visuals in collaboration with the team at Groundswell Experiential.
The design, created by Taylor Richmond, was all about energy, movement, and grabbing
attention in a big way. The final piece was featured as part of an immersive event experience.
THE ASK
To create a fun, high-energy animation that captured the spirit of TikTok Shop while holding up on a massive digital display.
The animation needed to be bold, dynamic, and instantly eye-catching - something that could stop people in their tracks at an event full of
competing visuals. Beyond just motion, the goal was to translate TikTok’s playful brand identity into a large-scale, immersive experience that felt both entertaining and on-brand.
BEHIND THE SCENES
For abstract animations like this one, I start by sketching out rough movement ideas,
getting a sense of rhythm and flow before diving in.
From there, I break down the design files to make sure every element I want to animate is flexible and ready to move. To bring this piece to life, I leaned into classic animation techniques like smearing, squash and stretch, and overshoot, giving it a bubbly, energetic feel. I also used 3D cameras to add depth and make the motion feel more dynamic and immersive.
