PORT OF PORTLAND: CATHAY PACIFIC CARGO
I led this animated project from concept through to final execution, taking charge of storyboarding,
illustration, animation, and sound design, ensuring every frame and note perfectly synced with the
story’s rhythm and energy.
THE ASK
To create an attention-grabbing ad campaign that highlights Cathay Pacific’s
fast and reliable direct shipping services to Asia.
I crafted social-ready video ads optimized for Facebook and Instagram, alongside eye-catching digital banner ads, designed to communicate the ease and speed of shipping “Hong Kong and Beyond.” The project balanced strong storytelling with crisp visuals and sound to engage viewers across platforms.
STYLE FRAMES
For this project, I challenged myself to push the limits of my usual style, stepping outside my comfort zone in both design and storytelling.
I incorporated rich textures that mimic the tactile feel of analog media within a digital format. I developed two distinct color stories
to explore different moods and tones, all while staying true to the client’s brand guidelines. The client was thrilled with the style frames I presented, excited by the fresh, textured direction we took.
STORYBOARDS
For this execution, I focused on crafting a concept that featured dynamic transitions
to keep the visuals lively and engaging.
Each movement was designed to flow seamlessly into the next, maintaining rhythm and energy. The result was a piece that felt cohesive, fluid, and visually immersive. To achieve this, I spent time storyboarding the transitions in detail, mapping out how scenes would connect so the motion felt intentional and narratively driven.
